U14/U16 match report
The first match of the season took place at Telford Golf Club. A team of 8 under 16’s and 4 under 14’s plated against Shropshire and Herefordshire for the Jack Prescott Trophy. After a long journey the boys were met with grim weather at Telford Undeterred they ventured forth for the foursomes but unfortunately we were 5 – 1 down at lunchtime In the singles we fared a little better but still lost 8 – 4 giving a match result of 13 – 5 Many thanks to the Shropshire and Herefordshire team for their hospitality, the course was in great condition considering the rainfall in the recent weeks. Thanks to Richard Jeffs for making the journey and helping out with the organisation on the course and also Stan Yeomans and Joe Stocker for their support. Well done to all the boys who as always were a credit to the county and finally thanks to parents for getting up early and making the long trip
