SENIOR STROKEPLAY REPORT

Thirty-three competitors played in the event with a few entrants playing for the first time.

The course was presented beautifully, the weather was kind, but gusty winds made the course a little more challenging.

In the main event the winner was Charles Banks from Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC with a gross score of 74. Andy Cook from Hollinwell finished second with a 75 followed by Stuart Pond from Worksop GC with a score of 75.

In the Nett winner’s category, first was Chris Singleton from Brierley Forest GC with 70 Nett. In 2nd place was Graeme Macdonald from Wollaton Park GC with 72 Nett and in 3rd place was Ian Lindley from Retford GC with 73 Nett.

There are three separate age group categories in the event, and the winners in each group were:

55-59 – Steve Glennon from SOTW GC with 83 Gross, 73 Nett

60-64 – Paul Edwards from Retford with 85 Gross, 75 Nett

65-69 – John Shields from Serlby Park with 87 Gross, 78 Nett

70+ – Stuart Pond from Worksop
