The long-standing Henderson Trophy was played today at the resident course Wollaton Park.

The event attracted a field of 54 players and is both a Gross and Nett competition.

The course as usual was in superb condition.

The scoring was of a very high standard with some fabulous Gross and Nett scores. In the Scratch event a stunning score of 65 – 6 under was produced by Charlie Cooke (Newark), who has been knocking on the door all season. Runner-up in the Scratch was the ever-consistent Owen Rafferty (Retford) who shot a 1 under par 70, in 3rd place was Jorja Newbold (Oakmere Park) who shot 72.

Moving onto the Handicap event the winner was Nathan Philpotts (ROT) whose nett score 67 edged Lucas Hedstrom (Ruddington ) by a shot , in 3rd spot was Alfie Sperke (Newark) who shot Nett 69. In addition to the main prizes there are Nett prizes for the best U16 score, this was won by Callum Deaton (Beeston Fields) who shot Net 71, the best U14 score was Oliver Stewart (Sherwood Forest) who shot Nett 70.

That was the final Junior competition of the season and we thank the players, the parents and the grand-parents for all their support this year.
