EG BOYS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP – MIDLAND QUALIFIER
The 6 man team competition with the best 5 scores counting was won for the 2nd year running by Leicestershire & Rutland after a 6th man count back – very tight result after a days golf.
The best overall 2 round gross score was returned by Jenson Forrester from L&R with a total of 134 – two great rounds of 67.
The Nottinghamshire boys led by County U18 Captain George Cordall, were up against some top players from the Midlands Counties and ended up in 8th position. All of the boys played their hearts out and my thanks go to them and their parents for all of the support they give to the County Boys – without them, this would not happen.
My grateful thanks go to Gary Quibell and David Halstead who provided great support, help and advice throughout the tournament – thanks also to all of the other NUGC officials and referees who were there to support, in particular County President, Richard Bonnello.
The 2023 tournament will be help on 31 May 2023 at Kirby Muxloe GC in Leicestershire and we will go again with the best team we can get.
