COUNTY SENIORS REPORT

The County Seniors Championship took place today at The Nottinghamshire.

It has to be said that despite tough conditions and very unfavourable weather leading up to the event, the course was presented to the highest standard, with fast smooth-running greens, immaculate surroundings and fairways. A credit to the Green staff.

The event consists of Gross and net winners, plus leading scores in several age categories.

In the main scratch event the winner was Colin Rodger from Norwood Park GC, with a fantastic Gross 76, a fairly new player to the county Seniors scene. In runner up spot was County Seniors regular Clive Bentley from Hollinwell with a 78 gross pipping county senior debutant Michael Hancock from Worksop on the back 9.

In the Net event the winner was John Shields from Serlby park GC who produced a fine 73 Net, edging out Chris Stothard from College Pines GC, who shot Net 74. In 3rd spot was Steve Hogg from Rushcliffe who shot net 74.

In the age category prize winners, the evergreen and immediate Past President Richard Bonnello (Hollinwell) retained his over 70 title, shooting a net 81.

The winner of the 65-69 category was Steve Chambers (Coxmoor) with a net 75.

60  – 64 winner was Paul Edwards (Retford) – Net 78

55 – 59 winner was Steve Glennon (SOTW) – Net 76.

Thanks again to The Nottinghamshire for the course, the staff and the welcome.
