COUNTY CAPTAIN REPORT
As I have said before foursomes is something we had to address and boy did we address it against our local rivals Derbyshire to the tune of 5-0. Derbyshire was runners up last year and they came with a belief that they could turn us over, but that belief was shattered in the morning. Big wins for Jack/Liam, Mark/Ash, Killian/Fred, Matt / Cole, then just a little one up from Dean/George to cap off a fantastic morning’s work.
With a Derbyshire side deflated the message was clear, do not let up and finish the job off! My boys did not disappoint winning 8-2 in the singles.
I think we are seeing a group of players that are now playing to their potential. We will enjoy this one, but I won’t allow the boys to get a head of themselves as we have big tests ahead of us, it’s one game at a time and a new game plan to follow.
Next up is Warwickshire away on a typical Warwickshire type track (tricky and quirky.)
Now for us to take the next step, we must prove ourselves away from home, that’s our next challenge.
