JACK SIPOS BOY'S MATCH PLAY CHAMPION
Game 1 - Charlie Dryden played Eddie Turner-Bennett, Eddie played very well and unfortunately Charlie couldn’t stem the flow resulting in a win for Eddie - 5/4
Game 2 - Jack Sipos played Nathan Fox, this match ebbed and flowed but Jack beat Nathan and won 3/2
The Play off for 3rd and 4th position – Charlie Dryden played Nathan Fox, the match had some great ball striking and on many occasions there were some fantastic short game recoveries. Nathan won a very close and well fought on the last green – 1up
In the Final, Eddie Turner Bennett played Jack Sipos. This is the first time in the history of the event the title was fought by 2 left handers. The match played up to its billing with both players showing skills in all aspects of the game. It was only fitting the match went to the final green with Jack making a birdie at the last to win the game – 1up.
Well done to all the players in this match play event and thanks also to Newark Golf Club for their hospitality for once again hosting the match play finals on their well-presented golf course.
