10 COUNTIES MIDLAND QUALIFIER
Lincolnshire won the event with an impressive 26 over par for the day beating Warwickshire, the conditions on the day were difficult with high winds playing havoc with the scoring.
This did not seem to deter Simon Richardson from Spalding golf club who shot 5 under par in total for 36 holes.
Nottinghamshire’s leading player was Chilwell Manor Adam Dorricott who shot 73 + 72 for a 3 over par total, Jordon Boulton from Notts shot 147 with the most bizarre round of 76 in the morning, starting at the 10th hole Jordon produced an albatross 2 on the par 5 13th hole, to get to 2 under, however all was undone on the 16th hole, despite hitting a good drive he managed to take 12, all credit to him he steadied the ship and remained at 5 over for the rest of his round.
A special note about young Matthew Freeman playing in the event for the first time and only 15 years old, he shot 75 + 76, very creditable indeed.
The other Notts scores were as follows
Henry Young Alls 75 + 80 = 155
Claypole 75 + 81 = 156
Fern 81 + 74 = 155
The event is always very tough with all scores to count and I think the players equipped themselves very well.
A special thanks to Coxmoor golf club, the course was in fantastic condition a great credit to the green staff and as always, the welcome the counties received was second to none.
