COVID 19 - LATEST INFORMATION ON NUGC COMPETITIONS
Dear member clubs
The County having sought guidance and opinion has decided that all the county competitions up to June 7th will be postponed or cancelled, we feel this is the best way forward and in keeping with England Golf and the Midland Golf Union, please see below what is affected.
The Scratch League is cancelled for 2020, the reason for this is 4 of the scheduled matches will have been missed before the 7th June and would be very difficult to re-arrange (Entry fees paid will be carried over to 2021)
The Inter-Club Men’s and Mixed Foursomes will also be cancelled for 2020, the reason is the same as above (Entry fees paid will be carried over to 2021)
The Cyril Sellick and Jack Prescott Junior events- cancelled and will not be re-arranged (Entry fees will be refunded)
The Midland League County matches have been cancelled for 2020, whilst this will not affect most clubs, other than those hosting matches, we await full details but it is likely that the Men’s, Seniors and Juniors will all be cancelled.
The Nippers events up to the 7th June, a further update will take place in late May as we might not be in any better position. (Entry fees will be refunded)
The County Men’s Amateur/ Open Championship will be re-scheduled for Saturday 27th June
The Men’s and Seniors Match Play scheduled to take place on the weekend of the 27th/28th June will be cancelled this year.
The Eddie Peters Trophy scheduled to be played on Sunday 29th March is cancelled and will not be re-arranged (Entry fees will be refunded)
We believe the steps are necessary to protect the players, the staff and officials at both club and county.
Many thanks for your understanding
