    Scratch 36 holes - 1st [Silver Challenge Cleek, presented by the late H.D. Snook] - 2nd - 3rd.

    Prizes for the best individual round [18 holes] - morning and afternoon.

  • THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

    Leading aggregate score over 36 holes scratch & handicap for players under 21 years of age

  • THE AMATEUR MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP [QUALIFYING 16 PLACES].
  • THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP [QUALIFYING 20 PLACES].
  • THE ENGLISH GOLF UNION CHAMPION CLUB TOURNAMENT.
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PLAY
  • Players must be of amateur status as defined by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, with a playing handicap of 5 or under, and must be a member of a golf club which is affiliated to the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs.
  • The draw and starting times will be communicated to each golf club in the County a few days prior to the competition.
  • If an individual copy of the draw is required by a competitor, please include a stamped and self-addressed envelope with the entry form.
  • Entries must be made on the attached form and sent together with the appropriate entry fee:

  • No competitor may take more than one prize.
  • The competition shall be limited to 60 players. Should the number of entries received exceed the stipulated number, players will be balloted in the order of the lowest combined handicaps.
  • Competitors must play in both rounds, and no competitor will not be allowed to commence their second round until all players have commenced their first round.
  • In the event of a tie the result will be determined by playing three extra holes, if no result has been determined the players shall continue until a result is decided by 'sudden-death.'
  • In the event of a tie for further places the result will be determined by a count-back over the last 18 - 9 - 6 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 15 holes in that order, or in the 18 hole events over the last 9 - 6 - 3 - 2 -1 or 15 holes in that order.
  • No entries will be accepted by telephone or after the closing date for entries.
  • No refunds will be made after the closing date for entries.
  • The Committee of the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs reserve the right to refuse any entry without explanation and to adjust the playing handicaps of any intending competitors.
  • The 16 competitors returning the lowest aggregate score over the 36 holes shall qualify to compete in the Nottinghamshire County Amateur Matchplay Championship.

    Exemption: Any player, or players, who shall qualify for the final days play in the EGU Mens Amateur Strokeplay Championship for the Brabazon Trophy.

  • In the event of a match remaining tied after 18 holes in any round of the Matchplay Championship players shall continue play until one or the other shall have gained a hole.
  • The 20 competitors returning the lowest aggregate score over the 36 holes shall qualify to compete in the Nottinghamshire Open Championship.

    Exemption: Any player, or players, who shall qualify for the final days play in the EGU Mens Amateur Strokeplay Championship for the Brabazon Trophy.

  • In the event of a tie after 36 holes in the Open Championship the result shall be determined by 'sudden-death'.
  • The Club returning the three lowest aggregate scores after 36 holes shall qualify to represent Nottinghamshire in the English Golf Union Champion Club Tournament. In the event of the Club with the three lowest aggregate scores not wishing to compete, the Club with the second lowest aggregate score shall qualify.
  • Players will be allowed one courtesy practice round over the course at the Coxmoor Golf Club during the week preceding the Strokeplay Championship, by prior arrangement with the Club Secretary.
  • All disputes shall be decided by the Committee appointed for the purpose of this competition whose decision shall be final.
  • When play is suspended for a dangerous situation [e.g. lightening] the signal will be a prolonged blast on a klaxon. Suspension for any other reason will be signaled by several short blasts on a klaxon. Players will be notified to resume play by two blasts on a klaxon.
  • If you suffer from a condition which may require urgent medical attention [e.g. Asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, heart condition, allergies to bee or wasp stings, etc.] it is important you notify an Officer and direct of the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs accordingly with regard to steps to be taken in the event of an attack.
  • Competitors may use motorised golf carts on medical grounds only, and only providing the Club allows the use of motorised golf carts.
  • Conforming golf clubs: Driving clubs must not have a characteristic time greater than 257 microseconds when measured on pendulum testing apparatus approved by the R & A Rules Limited. See Appendix II, 5a of the Rules of Golf. Penalty for breach of the condition: Disqualification.
  • Neither the Wollaton Park Golf Club nor the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs accept any responsibility for theft or accident, and competitors are advised to ensure they carry adequate insurance cover.
