• THE BOYS AMATEUR MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP [QUALIFYING 16 PLACES] [Under 18 years of age]

• Players must be of amateur status as defined by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and must be under the age of 18 years on the 1st January, 2008, and a member of a golf club which is affiliated to the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs.
• The 36 hole scratch competitions are restricted to players with a current CONGU playing handicap of 9 or under.
• The 18 hole handicap competitions are restricted to players with a current CONGU playing handicaps of between 10 and not exceeding 18.
• No competitor may take more than one prize.
• It may become necessary to restrict the number of competitors in the handicap competition, in which case entrants will be accepted strictly according to their date of entry.
• Competitors playing in the scratch competition must play in both rounds, and no competitor will not be allowed to commence their second round until all players have commenced their first round.
• In the event of the Boys Strokeplay Championships being tied after 36 holes the result will be determined by a sudden-death play-off over holes to be determined by the Tournament Committee. All other ties will be decided by a count-back over the last 18 - 9 - 6 - 3 or 1 -12 or 15 holes in that order, and in the 18 hole events by a count-back over the last 9 - 6 - 3 or 1 - 12 or 15 holes in that order.
• The 16 competitors returning the lowest aggregate scores over 36 holes shall qualify to compete in the Nottinghamshire County Boys Amateur Matchplay Championship. In the event of a halved match in any round of the Matchplay Championship, competitors shall continue to play until one or other shall have gained a hole.
• The draw and starting times will be communicated to the Junior Organiser of each golf club in the County with participating players a few days prior to the competition.
• If an individual copy of the draw is required by a competitor, please include a stamped and self-addressed envelope with the entry form.
• Entries must be on the attached form and sent together with the appropriate entry fee of £ 12.00 to:

  to be received by not later than 12.00 noon on Monday, the 12th May, 2008.

  PLEASE MAKE ALL CHEQUES PAYABLE TO THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE UNION OF GOLF CLUBS AND DATE THE 12th MAY 2008.

• No entries will be accepted by telephone or after the closing date for entries.
• No refunds will be made unless the withdrawal is received before the closing date for entries.
• The Committee of the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs reserve the right to refuse any entry without explanation and to adjust the playing handicaps of any intending competitors.
• All disputes shall be decided by the Committee appointed for the purpose of this competition whose decision shall be final.
• When play is suspended for a dangerous situation [e.g. lightening] the signal will be a prolonged blast on a klaxon. Suspension for any other reason will be signaled by several short blasts on a klaxon. Players will be notified to resume play by two blasts on a klaxon.
• If you suffer from a condition which may require urgent medical attention [e.g. Asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, heart condition, allergies to bee or wasp stings, etc.] it is important you notify an Officer of the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs accordingly and direct with regard to steps to be taken in the event of an attack.
• Conforming golf balls: The ball a player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R & A Rules Limited. Penalty for breach of the condition: Disqualification.
• Conforming golf clubs: Driving clubs must not have a characteristic time greater than 257 microseconds when measured on pendulum testing apparatus approved by the R & A Rules Limited. See Appendix II, 5a of the Rules of Golf. Penalty for breach of the condition: Disqualification.
• No caddies will be allowed. [Penalty for breach of Condition: 2 stokes for each hole at which any breach occurred. Maximum penalty per round : 4 strokes.].
• Competitors may use motorised golf carts on medical grounds only, and only providing the Club allows the use of motorised golf carts.
• Neither the Wollaton Park Golf Club nor the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs accept any responsibility for theft or accident, and competitors are advised to ensure they carry adequate insurance cover.
